The physiotherapy department in Soldier’s is in desperate need of proper management. This is my second knee replacement and I called weeks ahead to book an appointment which was denied. I first called Mar 1, my surgery was Mar 31. The next 4 weeks, more than 4 hospitals, departments and doctors sent referrals which stated I needed to be seen 14 days after surgery. It is now, April 30, and I still have not heard nor do I have an appointment. An appointment would be booked 2-3 weeks in advance. Appointments are 20-30 min long once a week or once every 2 weeks so what’s the issue?? It’s been 2 months so far but my concern for my health continues to be minimized and ignored. My doctor said knee replacement surgery should give me priority because it is vital that I start a program exactly 2 weeks after surgery. I have not heard from the hospital accept when I call I’m told they have no idea - how is that even possible? My first knee replacement last Jan was basically the same and at that time they had 4 therapists. Extremely frustrating and upsetting while I am trying to heal after a serious surgery that has a very long recovery period just to walk again.. The delays last time cost me 14 months before I could walk properly. It is very sad that a public hospital our taxes pay for doesn’t serve the people who need it the most. Completely unexceptable!

Staff have been so lovely! Alabama is the MVP nurse there. It's nice not having to pay for parking as well, especially in such a difficult economy right now.
